December is a month of beginnings and transitions, the birth of Christianity as we know it, the beginning of Winter Solstice and Yule and the remembering of loved ones past and present. Spirit Space will focus on two ceremonies celebrated during the month. First, "The Light A Candle" and "Communion." Both give honor to what was and what is. Light a Candle for someone you love and experience the celebration of community, prosperity and life that a Spirit Space communion metaphorically represents. I Corinthians 12:7 says, "To each is giving the manifestations of the spirit for the common good." Our Spirit Space community is such a beautiful demonstration of that wisdom. Each person who finds their way to Spirit Space brings within their being a gift to be shared for "common good." I would translate as "highest good." All religions teach of the love of God. They also teach us to love one another. We have an abundance of religions in the world teaching love. Should we not, therefore, have an abundance of love in the world? "Don't need no doctor, don't need no pills. I got a cure for the country ills," sings Sting in the song, "Sacred Love."
