This Sunday, we will hold our annual "Burning Bowl and White Stone Ceremonies." As the calendar year comes to a close, we reflect on the year of 2013 and look ahead with great expectations to 2014. As we look back, we release what no longer serves us in the burning bowl. As we look ahead, we write down our intentions (our 'new name') for the new year on a white stone. December 22: Celebrations of the Season & Spirit Space

December is a month of beginnings and transitions, the birth of Christianity as we know it, the beginning of Winter Solstice and Yule and the remembering of loved ones past and present. Spirit Space will focus on two ceremonies celebrated during the month. First, "The Light A Candle" and "Communion." Both give honor to what was and what is. Light a Candle for someone you love and experience the celebration of community, prosperity and life that a Spirit Space communion metaphorically represents. Secondly, we will honor Winter Solstice and Yule. There will be a time for each of us to express gratitudes for all that was, all that is and all to come. December 8: "Gifts of the Spirit"

I Corinthians 12:7 says, "To each is giving the manifestations of the spirit for the common good." Our Spirit Space community is such a beautiful demonstration of that wisdom. Each person who finds their way to Spirit Space brings within their being a gift to be shared for "common good." I would translate as "highest good."
