In the late 1990s, the Gospel of Thomas was discovered. It is quite different from the gospels found in the New Testament. There is a reason as to why the founding church fathers did not allow the Gospel of Thomas to be included in the New Testament. This Gospel is often referred to as the “secret sayings” of Jesus. To read and understand this Gospel, one must want to go deeper spiritually, must not be afraid to ask the tough questions, and must desire to not be blindly led.
